Workday warriors: Are you the first Out or the Last one glowing?

In every office ecosystem, there are two types: Team Swift Exit (clock goes brrr at 5 PM sharp) and Team One‑More‑Minute (still replying to last-minute emails at 6 PM). And oh, how the silent tension simmers.

The Swift Exiters - respect the clock like a gospel. They’ve mastered their tasks, turned off desktop, and are already halfway to their weekend when the clock strikes five. “Home time, baby!” is their unofficial motto.

Meanwhile, the Night Owls linger - sending that one last email, logging onto Slack again, or debating with their brains about “just another quick task.” They’re fueled by duty, anxiety, or perhaps too many inbox notifications. Their mantra? “It can’t hurt, right?”

This unspoken war is fueled by misunderstood signals. Swift Exiters see the other side as overworking showboats. Meanwhile, Night Owls see early leavers as slacking off or leaving colleagues to pick up the slack.

Here’s the truth: work doesn't need to become a battleground. Office harmony starts with empathy. If someone logs off early and your tasks aren't done - just ask. And if you hang back, consider your colleagues' boundaries. Because the real victory isn't staying late - it's knowing the work still makes it home with you.
