A horrifying murder shook Bengaluru this week when a 25-year-old software engineer, identified as Yashas, allegedly stabbed his 33-year-old ex-girlfriend, Harini, seventeen times in an OYO hotel room in Poorna Prajna Layout. The brutal attack reportedly followed Harini's attempts to distance herself from the relationship, which escalated tensions and led to the fatal confrontation.
Police were alerted after hotel staff noticed signs of struggle and reported the grim discovery. According to DCP Lokesh B Jagalasar, Harini had expressed a desire to end the relationship - prompting Yashas to commit the murder in a fit of "anger and jealousy" . Authorities have since arrested Yashas and registered a murder case at Subramanyapura Police Station .
The case, coming just days after another violent incident in Bengaluru, highlights the dangers of obsession and possessiveness. Police are now investigating the couple’s relationship history to understand what led to this tragic end.
