Rescue teams have discovered the burning remains of a Russian Antonov An‑24 passenger plane that vanished from radar on July 24, 2025, while approaching Tynda Airport in the Amur region. The aircraft, operated by Angara Airlines, departed from Blagoveshchensk and was carrying around 40–50 people, including 43 passengers (with five children) and six crew members.
A Mi‑8 helicopter from Rosaviatsiya located the plane’s fuselage on fire in a densely forested area approximately 15–16 km from Tynda. Observers reported no signs of survivors, in line with the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ official update posted on Telegram.
Preliminary analysis from state-owned TASS and Russian officials suggests the crash may have resulted from crew error in poor visibility during final approach . The incident has prompted a full criminal investigation, and search-and-rescue teams continue ground efforts amid challenging terrain and weather conditions. Authorities also confirmed deployment of 25 personnel, five vehicles, and four aircraft in the operation.
Local governor Vasily Orlov emphasized rescue efforts are ongoing and pledged updates as investigations progress. The focus remains on identifying victims, securing the crash site, and uncovering the cause of the tragedy.
