Rishabh Pant ruled out for remaining England Tests!

India suffered a major setback on July 24, 2025, as wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was confirmed to have fractured a toe during Day 1 of the fourth Test at Old Trafford. Medical scans revealed the fractured metatarsal, and Pant has been advised a minimum six-week rest, ruling him out of the remaining Tests in England - along with the series finale at The Oval.

Pant retired hurt on 37 while attempting a reverse sweep off Chris Woakes. He was later taken for scans, which revealed the fracture. The BCCI is reportedly exploring the possibility of using painkillers in the short term, but the injury and associated swelling mean his participation is highly unlikely.

With Pant sidelined, Dhruv Jurel will don the gloves for the rest of the match, and Ishan Kishan is expected to be called up as his long-term replacement for the final Test. This blow comes at a crucial juncture, with India trailing 1–2 and needing a strong finish in the series.
