Nick Compton challenges Bumrah ahead of Series-decider!

Former England cricketer Nick Compton has issued a blunt challenge to Jasprit Bumrah, urging the ace pacer to overcome workload concerns and take part in India’s vital fifth Test at The Oval. With India trailing 1‑2 in the five‑match series, Compton emphasized the significance of the final match, saying: “If this isn’t one of the biggest Test matches in recent Indian history, then what are you saving yourself for?”

Despite initial plans to limit Bumrah to three Tests due to his injury history, batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has confirmed that Bumrah remains fit, and his participation will depend on ongoing assessment of his workload and fitness levels. The final decision is expected shortly.

Compton added that Indian cricket would suffer a massive blow if Bumrah watches from the sidelines. “India really needs him. If he plays and delivers, drawing the series 2‑2 with a new captain and coach - that would be massive,” he stated.

With only one opportunity left to level the Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy, all eyes remain on whether Bumrah will rise to the moment and lead the pace attack at the Oval.
