The Raja Raghuvanshi murder case took a shocking turn as his wife Sonam Raghuvanshi surrendered in Ghazipur Uttar Pradesh and three assassins she allegedly hired were arrested. Raja’s body found hacked to death in a gorge near Weisawdong Falls on June 2 sparked a multi agency search for Sonam who vanished with him on May 23 during their honeymoon in Sohra Meghalaya. Meghalaya Police chief I Nongrang revealed Sonam orchestrated the murder with hired killers one arrested in Uttar Pradesh and two in Indore. A machete and smashed phone recovered from the gorge confirmed the homicide with a trekking guide’s sighting of the couple with three men providing a breakthrough.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma praised the police for cracking the case within seven days while operations continue to catch another suspect. The couple’s abandoned scooter and items like a white shirt and smartwatch found near Raja’s body deepened the mystery now unraveling with Sonam’s surrender.
