Aishwarya Rai, ex-wife of Tej Pratap Yadav and granddaughter of former Bihar CM Daroga Rai, has called his expulsion from Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) a mere “eyewash” ahead of elections. Her remarks came a day after RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav expelled his son over “irresponsible conduct” and failure to uphold family values.

The controversy began when a post from Tej Pratap’s verified Facebook claimed a long-term relationship with a woman named Anushka Yadav, prompting public uproar. Tej Pratap later alleged his account was hacked.

Aishwarya accused the Yadav family of staging drama for political mileage, claiming, “They are all together. They haven’t separated. This is just for elections.” She also recalled her troubled marriage, saying, “Why was I beaten? Why was my life ruined?”

Lalu Yadav cited moral integrity as the basis of the expulsion, emphasizing personal conduct impacts the broader fight for social justice.
