While ACs offer relief during scorching summers, prolonged exposure can quietly harm your health.

Sitting in air conditioning all day can lead to dehydration, as the cool environment reduces the sensation of thirst, causing water deficiency and even triggering migraines. It also strips moisture from your skin, leading to dryness, cracks, and conditions like eczema.

Joint and back pain are common in people exposed to cold air for hours, especially those with existing joint issues.

Your eyes aren’t spared either - dry AC air causes irritation, dryness, and eye strain. Perhaps most dangerous is the risk of respiratory issues. If filters aren’t cleaned regularly, ACs circulate dust, bacteria, and fungi, increasing chances of allergies and asthma.

To protect yourself, stay hydrated, moisturize often, avoid sitting directly under AC vents, and maintain your AC filters regularly.
