A devastating accident on June 9, 2025, claimed four lives, including a Government Railway Police constable, when passengers fell from an overcrowded Kasara-bound local train between Diva and Kopar stations in Thane, Maharashtra. Six others were injured during the morning rush hour, likely due to commuters on footboards of two passing trains colliding, according to railway officials. The deceased, identified as Ketan Saroj, Rahul Gupta, Mayur Shah, and Vicky Mukhyad, were declared dead on arrival at Kalwa’s civic hospital.
