Bollywood actress Kajol is set to return to the big screen with the mythological horror film Maa, portraying a fierce mother who confronts supernatural forces to protect her daughter. Directed by Vishal Furia, known for his work on Chhorii, the film intertwines elements of Bengali folklore with a gripping narrative of maternal devotion.

The recently released trailer showcases Kajol and her daughter seeking refuge in an old forest house, only to encounter a demonic entity. The tension escalates as the daughter wanders into the demon's domain, prompting Kajol's character to declare, "Jab tak teri maa tere sath hai, tera koi kuch nahi bigaad sakta" (As long as your mother is with you, no one can harm you).

Produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande, Maa also features performances by Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Jitin Gulati. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 27, 2025, in four languages.

Ahead of the release, Kajol visited Kolkata's Dakshineswar Kali Temple to seek blessings, describing her role in Maa as one of the strongest she has ever portrayed.

With its blend of mythology, horror, and emotional depth, Maa promises to deliver a compelling cinematic experience that explores the lengths a mother will go to protect her child.
