The Bharatiya Janata Party launched a scathing attack on Congress MP Jairam Ramesh on Thursday over his controversial remarks about all-party delegations linked to Operation Sindoor. Ramesh had told ANI, “Our MPs are roaming and terrorists are also roaming,” while questioning the effectiveness of India’s diplomatic outreach after the Pahalgam terror attack.
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla condemned the remark, calling it “shameful, senseless, and condemnable.” He urged the Parliament's Privileges Committee to take strict action against Ramesh and accused him of echoing Pakistan’s propaganda.
Poonawalla also highlighted that Indian MPs are visiting partner countries to expose Pakistan’s terror links, not to engage in casual diplomacy. He further recalled Congress’s earlier criticism of the Balakot air strikes and the Army, calling it a pattern of undermining national efforts.
The BJP insists such statements damage India's international credibility and aid enemy narratives during sensitive times.
