In a fiery response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on the recent Murshidabad violence and alleged misgovernance in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lashed out, accusing the BJP of spreading lies to divide and rule. Speaking at a press conference, Banerjee said she was “shocked and saddened” by the PM’s comments and challenged the BJP to hold elections immediately: “We are ready, and Bengal is ready.”
Banerjee also criticized the politicization of Operation Sindoor, calling it a shameful move during a time of national unity. She slammed the BJP as the "Jumla Party" and alleged they are looting the nation while undermining the rights of the poor.
Meanwhile, Modi at a rally in Alipurduar blamed the TMC for violence, corruption, and the collapse of the education system. He accused the ruling party of snatching opportunities from the youth and silencing voices of the poor.
