Dubai residents will soon enjoy free access to ChatGPT Plus, the premium version of OpenAI’s AI chatbot, thanks to a new partnership between OpenAI and the UAE government.
This initiative is part of the Stargate UAE project, a cutting-edge AI data center being built in Abu Dhabi with a one-gigawatt AI computing cluster. The first phase of 200 megawatts is expected to be operational by 2026.
With free ChatGPT Plus, Dubai users will benefit from faster responses, priority access to new features, and enhanced AI capabilities without the usual $20 monthly fee. The partnership aligns with OpenAI’s “OpenAI for Countries” program, which supports nations in building AI infrastructure while fostering strong US ties.
The UAE plans to invest up to $20 billion in AI, matching investments in the US and collaborating with major tech companies like Oracle, Nvidia, and Cisco. This move aims to establish the UAE as a global AI leader across sectors like healthcare, education, and clean energy.
