In the heart of Delhi’s Safdarjung Enclave, Hinoki is pioneering a new wave of café culture with its Japanese-inspired slow bar concept. Founded by college friends Urvi Singh and Deepanshu Saini, Hinoki emphasizes intentionality and craftsmanship, offering a tranquil retreat from the city's fast-paced coffee scene.
Unlike conventional cafés bustling with activity, Hinoki offers a minimalist space adorned with shelves of manga, Shakespearean plays, and board games, inviting patrons to pause and savor the moment. The café eschews traditional espresso machines in favor of the manual Flair 58+, allowing for precise control over each brew. Their menu is deliberately concise, focusing solely on coffee and matcha. Signature offerings include the Iced Mango—espresso gently poured over house-made mango purée—and a hand-whisked matcha praised for its earthy, smooth flavor.
Hinoki's commitment to the slow bar philosophy—prioritizing quality over speed and experience over efficiency—positions it as a unique destination for coffee and tea enthusiasts seeking a mindful and immersive experience. In a city where cafés often double as workspaces or social hubs, Hinoki stands out by bringing the beverage back to center stage.
