This global billionaire just got approval to beam internet across India!

Starlink has received a license from India's space regulator to launch commercial operations, clearing the final regulatory hurdle for market entry. The Elon Musk-led firm has been waiting since 2022 for licenses to operate commercially in India. Last month it received a key telecom ministry license but awaited space department approval.

Starlink becomes the third company approved for India's satellite services market, joining Eutelsat's OneWeb and Reliance Jio. The company must now secure spectrum from the government, establish ground infrastructure, and demonstrate compliance with security requirements through testing and trials.

India's government sided with Musk over spectrum assignment rather than auction, resolving a months-long dispute with billionaire Mukesh Ambani's Jio.
