India is witnessing a fresh spike in Covid-19 cases, with active infections rising to 2,710, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Kerala leads with 1,147 active cases, followed by Maharashtra (424) and Delhi (294). The country recorded 511 new cases in just 24 hours, raising alarms across multiple states.
Deaths have also increased, with Maharashtra reporting the highest number at 7, followed by Kerala (5) and Delhi (2) since January 2025. The surge has prompted states to strengthen health surveillance, step up testing, and issue public health advisories.
On a positive note, 1,170 people have recovered or been discharged since January, including 338 in Kerala, 214 in Delhi, and 183 in Tamil Nadu.
Health officials are urging vulnerable populations to stay vaccinated and follow safety protocols as the situation unfolds.
Stay alert, stay safe, Covid is not over yet.
