Japanese entrepreneur Hoshi Takayuki, once a beauty empire magnate in Tokyo running 15 stores, has relinquished his corporate life following a profound spiritual awakening in India. He now identifies as Bala Kumbha Gurumuni, a saffron-clad disciple of Lord Shiva, fully embracing Sanatan Dharma after a Nadi astrology revelation and vivid dream of past life in Uttarakhand.
Takayuki walked barefoot with approximately 20 Japanese followers during the Kanwar Yatra, carrying Ganga water and tying seva with a two-day free food camp for pilgrims in Dehradun. His Tokyo home has been transformed into a Shiva temple, and he’s already acquired 35 acres in Puducherry to build a grand Shiva shrine, with plans for an ashram in Uttarakhand.
The Niranjani Akhara is set to honor him with the spiritual title of Mahamandaleshwar, recognizing his deep commitment to spiritual service and spreading Hindu philosophy. His journey marks a dramatic shift—from material success to spiritual purpose—creating a bridge between Japanese roots and Indian spirituality. Gurumuni’s search for his “lost Himalayan village” continues through service, pilgrimage, and temple-building across India.
