Rimzim Dadu, known for her futuristic fashion experiments, brought a bold Banjara twist to India Couture Week 2025. Her latest collection, titled ‘Oxynn’, draws heavily from tribal aesthetics, specifically the vibrant, nomadic Banjara community of India.
But this isn’t your typical ethnic wear. Dadu used unconventional materials-rusted metallic wires, mesh, mirrors, and sculpted textiles-to create structured silhouettes that shimmered on the runway. From corded paisley motifs to mirror-patched jackets and sculpted lehengas, the collection fused high fashion with deep-rooted culture.
What stood out? Her unique blend of craft and innovation. Dadu transformed traditional Patola weaving into metallic art and brought tribal storytelling to life through textiles that looked like armor-strong yet elegant.
In a fashion world often stuck between modern minimalism and ornate tradition, Dadu's collection broke the rules and redefined couture. It wasn’t just wearable-it was sculptural, symbolic, and bold.
With ‘Oxynn’, Rimzim Dadu didn’t just present clothes. She told a story of identity, resilience, and the evolving idea of what it means to be Indian in fashion today.
