Sivaganga Custodial Death: Post-Mortem Reveals 44 Injuries on Victim's Body!

In a troubling development from Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu, a post-mortem report has revealed that 44 injury marks were found on the body of A. Satish Kumar, a man who died while in police custody.

Satish, aged 25, was taken into custody on June 25 in connection with a theft case. He reportedly fell ill while in custody and died the next day. However, his family alleged he was tortured by the police, leading to his death.

The detailed post-mortem report lists numerous external injuries on his arms, legs, and back, many of which are suspected to be caused by blunt objects, supporting claims of physical abuse.

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has taken note of the incident and demanded answers. Meanwhile, public outrage has grown, with many calling for strict action against the officers involved.

This case adds to ongoing national concerns about police accountability and the need for urgent reform in custodial practices to prevent such tragedies.
