Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov echoed Peskov’s sentiment, stating Russia is “in favour of a ceasefire” but warning it is “very difficult to make any final conclusions now”, given reports of ongoing strikes after the truce announcement . Lavrov highlighted that while the United States and Qatar reportedly helped broker the deal, the situation remains "fragmentary", with reports of continued exchanges between the two nations.

Having signed a strategic partnership agreement with Iran earlier this year, Russia has criticized previous Israeli and U.S. military actions as illegal.
