Rahul Gandhi's defamation case adjourned to July 14!

The MP-MLA court has adjourned the hearing in a defamation case filed against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to July 14. The case, brought forward by BJP leader Vijay Mishra, stems from Gandhi’s controversial remarks allegedly targeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah during a public speech.

Filed in 2018, the case accuses Rahul Gandhi of tarnishing Shah’s image by referring to him as a “murder accused” in a political context, despite Shah being acquitted in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case. Gandhi’s statement reportedly made during a rally in Madhya Pradesh triggered backlash from BJP leaders, leading to the legal action.

This isn’t the first time Gandhi has faced defamation proceedings; he has been entangled in multiple such cases across states for his politically charged comments. The court’s adjournment gives Gandhi's legal team more time, while political observers note that the case may influence the tone of upcoming election narratives.

The next hearing on July 14 will be closely watched for its political and legal implications.
