Mixing vodka with sugarcane juice might sound refreshing, but this combination can be dangerously harmful for your health.
Sugarcane juice contains 13–15 grams of sugar per 100 ml, which can spike blood sugar levels rapidly. For people with diabetes, this mix can act like poison due to disrupted sugar metabolism caused by alcohol’s effect on the liver.
Vodka is a diuretic, and sugarcane juice’s high sugar content demands more water for digestion, making this mix a trigger for dehydration—especially during hot summer days.
The combo may also lead to digestive issues like vomiting or stomach pain due to policosanol in sugarcane and alcohol’s harsh impact on the gut. Worse, roadside sugarcane juice may be contaminated, increasing the risk of infections like hepatitis.
Lastly, this drink is high in calories, potentially leading to weight gain and fatty liver. So next time, think twice before mixing health with high spirits.
