Hours after Israel Embassy staff killings, person shot outside CIA headquarters

A tense 24 hours unfolded in the US as a person was shot outside the CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, early Thursday. While a CIA spokesperson confirmed a security incident, they did not reveal whether shots were fired. Security engaged a suspect near the main gate, who was later taken into custody.

Just hours earlier, two staffers at the Israeli Embassy in Washington were fatally shot by a lone gunman, Elias Rodriguez, who shouted "Free Palestine" upon arrest. The victims, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, were a young couple planning to get engaged.

Former US President Donald Trump condemned the incident, calling it a "horrible act of antisemitism." Israeli PM Netanyahu echoed similar sentiments, citing rising incitement against Israel.

Authorities have not confirmed if the two incidents are linked, but both have triggered major security and diplomatic concerns across the country.
