Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru is set to enhance its cultural ambiance by featuring installations from the Museum of Art & Photography (MAP) in its Terminal 2. This collaboration aims to provide travelers with a unique artistic experience, showcasing India's rich heritage and contemporary art forms.
MAP, located in Bengaluru, is a private art museum that houses a vast collection of Indian art, textiles, photography, crafts, and design objects spanning from the twelfth century to the present. The museum, founded by Abhishek Poddar, opened its doors to the public in February 2023 and has since been a custodian of over 20,000 artworks. Its collections are organized into six departments: Modern and Contemporary Art, Photography, Living Traditions, Popular Culture, Pre-Modern Art, and Textiles, Craft, and Design.
Terminal 2, inaugurated in November 2022, is designed to handle both domestic and international operations, enhancing the airport's capacity and passenger experience.
