The incident occurred outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where thousands had gathered to celebrate the team’s historic IPL win.

In the aftermath, social media erupted with the hashtag #ArrestKohli, as users criticized Kohli for reportedly leaving the country for London shortly after the tragic incident. Many accused him and the team of neglecting basic crowd safety measures and failing to adequately respond to the unfolding chaos.

A police complaint was filed against Kohli at the Kabbana Police Station by a social activist, alleging that the cricketer bore some responsibility for the mismanagement. Political leaders also weighed in, with BJP MP Tejasvi Surya blaming the Karnataka government for poor planning and naming Kohli in his statement.
