Food Scientist Warns : Never Eat These Two Foods

A food safety expert known as @hydroxide on TikTok shared two foods she tries not to eat, focusing on avoiding harmful bacteria.

First on her list are raw sprouts. They grow in warm, moist places—perfect for bacteria to multiply. She says they are “very, very, very high risk” when eaten uncooked. Unless you boil or cook them well, they could carry germs that cause serious illness.

Second, she skips lightly-cooked tenderized beef, like rare or medium-rare burgers and steaks. These meats are often pierced with needles during processing. If bacteria are inside, it spreads through the meat, increasing the risk of infection.

To stay safe, she cooks sprouts until they are soft and ensures beef is well done. Following food safety steps like washing hands and cooking meat fully is crucial. The takeaway? Simple cooking and care in the kitchen go a long way to avoid dangerous germs and stay healthy.
