Allahabad HC stays arrest of RCB pacer Yash Dayal in sexual exploitation case!

The Allahabad High Court on July 15 granted protection from arrest to Royal Challengers Bengaluru fast bowler Yash Dayal, who is facing serious allegations of sexual exploitation under section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The High Court’s bench, led by Justice Siddhartha Varma and Justice Anil Kumar, noted that one “cannot be fooled for five years,” suggesting that the relationship dynamics warranted further examination before any arrest.

The woman who first filed her complaint via the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s online grievance portal on June 21 claims Dayal deceived her with false promises of marriage over the span of a five-year relationship. The FIR was registered on July 6 at the Indirapuram police station in Ghaziabad.

Dayal has responded by filing a counter-complaint, alleging that the woman unlawfully took his phone, laptop, and money. In his petition, he challenged the accusations and sought an urgent judicial review. The court is scheduled to hear his plea again next week. This high-profile case has drawn widespread attention, given Dayal’s status in the IPL and the serious nature of the allegations.
