UPSC Civil Services Mains 2025: Five-day marathon exam starts today!

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has commenced the highly anticipated Civil Services Mains Examination (CSE) 2025, running over five days: August 22, 23, 24, 30, and 31 . On Day 1 (August 22, 2025), the first shift started at 9:00 AM and concluded at 12:00 noon . The second shift is scheduled from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, set to host one of the written papers .

Only candidates who qualified in the Preliminary exam held in May are eligible to appear in the Mains - UPSC released those results in June. Entry at examination centers is strictly regulated, with no candidate allowed after gate closure; aspirants must carry their e-Admit Card and a valid photo ID .

This crucial second stage is being held in two shifts each exam day, ensuring structured conduct and maintaining exam integrity.
