In a tragic incident in Moradabad's Bhojpur area, 22-year-old Amreen died by suicide on Saturday, allegedly due to persistent harassment by her in-laws. Before taking her life, she recorded a 2-minute and 37-second video detailing the mental and physical abuse she endured from her husband, sister-in-law, and father-in-law. 

Amreen had married Junaid Khan, son of Shahid, four months prior against her family's wishes. In the video, she stated, "I don't know what will happen after my death, but it can't be worse than this life. My husband, sister-in-law, and father-in-law tell me every day, 'Why don't you just die?' They are responsible for my death." She also mentioned being denied food and electricity, and highlighted emotional torment following a miscarriage. 

On the day of her death, Amreen video-called her father, Salim Ahmed, reporting ongoing abuse. By the time her family arrived at her in-laws' residence in Pipalsana, they found her body. Villagers indicated she had hanged herself using a scarf. Police have recovered the video, sent the body for autopsy, and registered an FIR for abetment to suicide based on her father's complaint. Junaid, her husband, had been working in Bangalore for the past month.
