The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has placed several top South Indian actors under scrutiny, including Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati, and others, for their alleged links with the Mahadev online betting app case. According to reports, 29 actors and influencers have been summoned for questioning regarding their promotional activities and potential financial ties to the now-banned app.
The Mahadev app, which facilitated illegal online betting, has already been at the center of a massive money laundering probe. The ED suspects that several celebrities were paid hefty amounts to endorse the platform, knowingly or unknowingly contributing to its illegal operations. These endorsements have come under the scanner as authorities work to trace financial transactions and involvement in laundering proceeds from the app’s illicit earnings.
While no formal charges have been filed yet, this development has sparked widespread concern in the entertainment industry. The ED is expected to conduct multiple rounds of questioning to ascertain the depth of involvement, if any, by these actors. The probe is still ongoing, and more names may surface as investigations progress.
