Akvo’s machines perform best in humid environments—with one unit of electricity capable of producing up to 4 litres in optimal conditions; even in drier areas, output is meaningful (2.5 litres per unit). They are designed to run on conventional power, solar or diesel setups, making them suitable for remote or off-grid locations. The company has already installed more than 2,000 systems across six Indian cities and globally in regions such as the Gulf, South America and Africa—with over 100 million litres of water produced.

Akvo also emphasises sustainability—not just in its product but in business model and growth strategy. Operating with a lean team of 38 and no external investors, the firm uses a flexible “buy or BOOT (Build-Own-Operate-Transfer)” model for clients—lowering barriers for businesses to adopt their systems.
