Indian-origin professionals are now at the forefront of global leadership. From tech giants to luxury fashion, at least 10 top international companies are currently led by Indian-origin CEOs-proving India’s growing influence in shaping the world economy.
The newest addition to this elite list is Shailesh Jejurikar, who has been appointed the next CEO of Procter & Gamble (P&G). He will officially take over the role on January 1, 2026, becoming the first Indian to lead the multinational consumer goods giant. Jejurikar joined P&G in 1989 and worked across roles in India, Europe, and the U.S. before being named COO in 2021.
Jejurikar joins other Indian-origin leaders like Sundar Pichai (Google/Alphabet), Satya Nadella (Microsoft), Shantanu Narayen (Adobe), Arvind Krishna (IBM), Leena Nair (Chanel), Sanjay Mehrotra (Micron), Jayshree Ullal (Arista Networks), Nikesh Arora (Palo Alto Networks), and Neal Mohan (YouTube).
These leaders share a common journey-strong Indian roots, global education or exposure, and consistent excellence in innovation, strategy, and leadership. Their success stories are not just a matter of pride for India but also a sign that the global corporate world is increasingly open to diverse and inclusive leadership.
