Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, a self-made billionaire and high school dropout, joined Nita Ambani at the 21st graduation ceremony of Dhirubhai Ambani International School (DAIS) as the guest of honour. The event marked a proud farewell to the Class of 2025, with students dressed in elegant blue robes.
Kamath, known for co-founding India’s largest brokerage firm, spoke about his unconventional journey, inspiring students to embrace individual paths to success. Kamath candidly shared that he “hated school” and dropped out at 15 or 16, but compensated by voracious reading and relentless self-learning.
Nita Ambani, chairperson of Reliance Foundation, hosted the event and addressed students with warmth and optimism. Kamath’s presence symbolized a blend of tradition and disruption, showing that success comes in many forms.
The ceremony celebrated achievement beyond academics, offering both motivation and perspective to India’s future change-makers.
