Procrastination isn't new - but in the digital age, it has become an epidemic. For Gen Z, distractions are everywhere: endless content, constant notifications, and the pressure to always be "on." With to-do lists piling up and deadlines looming, many find themselves stuck in a loop of "I’ll do it tomorrow."
But why are we putting things off more than ever? Psychologists say it's not laziness - it's overwhelm. The fear of failure, perfectionism, and burnout often trigger avoidance. Add social media to the mix, and suddenly, five minutes of rest turns into an hour-long scroll.
Still, the good news is that awareness is growing. Apps for focus, techniques like the Pomodoro method, and mindfulness practices are gaining traction. Gen Z isn't ignoring the problem - they're actively seeking solutions.
In a world built to distract, fighting procrastination is a modern form of self-discipline. And as the conversation around mental health grows, so does the hope that we'll choose purpose over postponement.
