MI New York completed a remarkable playoff run to win the Major League Cricket championship Monday, defeating Washington Freedom by five wickets in a thrilling final. After qualifying with just three wins in 10 league matches, MINY clutched crucial moments in the Eliminator, Challenger, and final.

Defending 181, Trent Boult's opening spell (2/32) reduced Freedom to 0/2 before Rachin Ravindra (70) and Jack Edwards (33) fought back. The decisive moment came when 22-year-old Rushil Ugarkar defended 12 runs in the final over against Glenn Maxwell and Glenn Phillips, showing remarkable composure.

Earlier, Quinton de Kock's explosive 77 off 46 balls helped MINY post 180/7. Captain Kieron Pollard praised his team's belief after critics wrote them off.
