Amid rising regional tensions, Iran has made it clear that it will not return to diplomatic negotiations until the United States rules out further military strikes. The statement comes in response to recent U.S. operations and growing concerns over Tehran’s nuclear programme.
While Israel claims Iran is close to developing a nuclear bomb, Iran insists that its program is strictly for peaceful, civilian energy purposes. Iranian officials have accused the U.S. and its allies of undermining diplomatic efforts through aggressive military actions and economic pressure.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei Hamaneh stated that "serious and credible negotiations cannot take place under threat of force." Tehran is demanding a clear commitment to de-escalation before talks can resume, especially in light of its damaged nuclear facilities and heightened military alertness.
This latest development adds another layer of complexity to an already volatile Middle East, as global powers urge both sides to avoid further provocation and prioritize diplomacy.
