EAM Jaishankar urges china to normalize ties further!

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, during his landmark visit to Beijing on July 13, 2025, called for the “continued normalisation” of India-China relations, while also highlighting the resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra as a positive development. Speaking during a meeting with Chinese Vice-President Han Zheng, Jaishankar noted the improvement in bilateral ties since Prime Minister Modi and President Xi Jinping’s meeting in Kazan in October 2024.

He said the resumption of the sacred pilgrimage, suspended since 2020 due to pandemic and border tensions, was “widely appreciated in India” for its cultural and spiritual significance. However, he stressed that true normalcy would require peace and stability along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Jaishankar is also scheduled to attend the SCO Foreign Ministers' meeting and hold bilateral discussions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. His visit signals cautious optimism in a complex relationship still shaped by strategic rivalry, but now showing signs of mutual re-engagement.
