Dermatologist warns: 90% don’t do THIS when seasons change

With seasonal transitions underway, Dr Kiran Sethi, medical director at Isya Aesthetics, warns that skin can turn dry, irritated or experience breakouts if your routine doesn't adapt. As temperatures and humidity fluctuate, the skin barrier becomes vulnerable—cold, dry air and indoor heating strip moisture, while warm, humid days can boost oil production .

Dr Sethi advises five key adjustments:

  1. Cleanse gently: Use sulfate‑free cleansers with glycerin or aloe to remove impurities without stripping skin.

  2. Lock in hydration: Apply moisturizers rich in hyaluronic acid, ceramides and niacinamide immediately after cleansing to strengthen the skin barrier.

  3. Exfoliate carefully and add vitamin C: Light chemical exfoliation 1–2 times a week smooths texture, while vitamin C (10–20%) brightens and shields against free radicals.

  4. Sun protection year‑round: Broad‑spectrum SPF ≥ 30 is essential, even on cloudy days; cream formulations offer extra nourishment.

  5. Consider clinical treatments: Procedures like Profhilo and hydro‑stretch therapy deliver deep hydration and collagen‑boosting effects for more resilient skin.

Dr Sethi underscores that a dynamic skincare approach tailored to seasonal changes is vital—for stronger, more balanced, and radiant skin every month of the year.
