Wiaan Mulder etched his name in cricket history at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo, becoming the first player to score a triple century on captaincy debut. The 27-year-old South African smashed 367 not out off just 334 balls, surpassing Graham Dowling's previous record of 239 runs for a debut captain.

Mulder's knock was the second-fastest triple century in Test history, reached in just 297 balls. He broke multiple records along the way - surpassing Graeme Smith's 277 as the highest score by a South African captain and eclipsing Hashim Amla's 311 as the nation's highest individual Test score.

At 27 years and 138 days, Mulder also became the youngest Test captain to score a triple hundred, beating Bob Simpson's 61-year-old record. His magnificent innings included 49 fours and four sixes as South Africa declared at 626/5.
