U.S. President Donald Trump expressed clear disappointment on June 24, stating that both Israel and Iran violated the recently declared ceasefire, and emphasized he was "not happy with Israel" in particular. He made the remarks to reporters before leaving for the NATO summit in The Hague.
Trump’s initial ceasefire, announced hours earlier, involved a phased halt - with Iran ceasing fire first, followed 12 hours later by Israel. However, both sides reportedly resumed strikes early into the truce’s timeframe .
Trump rebuked Israel, accusing it of "unloading" on Iran immediately after agreeing to the ceasefire terms . Simultaneously, Israeli officials confirmed Iranian missile launches, while Iran denied any violation and pointed to continued Israeli attacks during the ceasefire window.
Trump’s remarks underscore the fragile state of the ceasefire and his growing frustration with Israel’s handling of the truce, even as global attention turns to whether this temporary halt can be sustained amid mounting mistrust.
