All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Kalyan Chaubey has assured stakeholders that the Indian Super League (ISL) will proceed in the 2025–26 season, despite a temporary suspension over unresolved Master Rights Agreement (MRA) issues. Legal petitions in the Supreme Court had paused the league, but Chaubey confirmed that play would likely begin with a slight delay.
In parallel, AIFF has also moved swiftly on securing India’s new head coach. The technical committee, chaired by I.M. Vijayan and advised by Subrata Paul and Syed Sabir Pasha, has shortlisted three candidates: Khalid Jamil, Stephen Constantine, and Stefan Tarkovic. Khalid Jamil, currently coaching Jamshedpur FC, is the only Indian in the final shortlist and is widely considered the front‑runner, thanks to his strong domestic credentials and recent tactical success.
Chaubey further confirmed that the AIFF Executive Committee intends to finalize the appointment within the next 10 days, ensuring the national team is ready in time for upcoming FIFA windows and AFC Asian Cup qualifiers.
