In a disturbing turn of events in Sagarpur, southwest Delhi, a 40-year-old daily-wage labourer was arrested on Sunday after allegedly stabbing his 10-year-old son to death during an argument over going out to play in the rain . The incident took place in their one-room rented residence at Mohan Block, where the boy lived with his father and three siblings following the death of their mother years ago .

According to police, the father objected to his son's wish to play in the rain. When the boy persisted, the father, in a sudden rage, stabbed him in the chest with a kitchen knife . The father then rushed the boy to Dada Dev Hospital around 1:30 pm, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival . Authorities have seized the weapon, registered a murder case under Section 302 IPC, and initiated further investigations, including CCTV footage review and interviews with neighbors and family .

The victim’s siblings witnessed the attack, with one sister stating their father often beat them after drinking. She mentioned: “He stabbed him in the chest. I want strict action against my father.” . Police are now working to locate extended relatives and ensure the welfare of the surviving children.
