Meta Platforms has named Vishal Shah as head of product management for its artificial-intelligence efforts, marking a fresh push into AI. Shah, a decade-long Meta insider, previously spent over six years leading product management for Instagram, before transitioning in 2021 to serve as vice-president of Metaverse.

In his new role, he reports to Nat Friedman, Meta’s head of AI product, and is charged with driving integration of AI across Meta’s major platforms and its Reality Labs division.The move comes amid significant organisational change at Meta, including job cuts within its Superintelligence Labs unit, as the company realigns toward AI-driven growth.

 With Shah’s background spanning social-app product leadership and metaverse innovation, Meta appears betting on leadership continuity and in-house talent to accelerate the next wave of AI-enabled experiences.
