South Africa Level Series with Clinical 2nd T20I Win!

South Africa delivered a commanding all-round performance to defeat India by 51 runs in the second T20I at New Chandigarh, leveling the five-match series 1-1. Batting first, the visitors posted an imposing total of 213 for 4, driven by a spectacular innings from Quinton de Kock, who hammered 90 runs off just 46 balls. His knock combined clean hitting with smart strike rotation, setting the perfect platform for a big score. The middle order capitalised well, ensuring South Africa maintained momentum throughout their innings.

India’s chase began on a shaky note as early wickets put immediate pressure on the top order. Despite Tilak Varma’s impressive 62 from 34 balls, which briefly revived hopes, India struggled to build stable partnerships. The South African bowlers maintained discipline, with Ottniel Baartman emerging as the standout performer, taking four crucial wickets that halted India’s progress. Consistent pace variations, sharp lengths, and tight fielding prevented the Indian batters from settling at any stage.

India were eventually bowled out for 162 in 19.1 overs, falling well short of the target. The defeat highlighted India’s need for stronger starts and middle-order stability, while South Africa’s clinical execution showcased their adaptability and determination as the series moves ahead.
