On Monday, July 14, 2025, SpiceJet flight SG 9282, bound for Mumbai, was forced to abort its taxi and return to the stand at Delhi’s IGI Airport after two passengers tried to enter the cockpit .
Despite repeated pleas from the captain, cabin crew, and fellow passengers, the duo persisted in their disruptive behavior, refusing to return to their seats . In the interest of airline safety protocols, the flight was brought back to the bay and the individuals offloaded. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) took them into custody .
The incident resulted in a significant seven-hour delay, with the flight eventually departing at 7:21 pm, having originally been scheduled for 12:30 pm . No injuries were reported, and all passengers and crew disembarked safely.
SpiceJet confirmed the situation in an official statement, emphasising that the decision was taken to protect the safety and well-being of all on board.
