Delhi’s iconic Daryaganj Book Bazaar, now set up at Mahila Haat every Sunday, is more than just a market-it’s a memory lane.
Running since 1964, this bazaar still has over 230 book sellers. From English classics to exam guides, comics to rare finds—books here cost as low as ₹10! You’ll even find a sign that says, “Free Reading Zone”—where you can read without buying.
Even if most sellers aren’t highly educated, they know books and readers by heart. Many regulars even get extra discounts, simply because of the bond they’ve built over time.
It’s not all perfect though-there’s a lack of basic facilities like toilets, water, and shelter during rain. But despite this, the market survives like a living library.
At Daryaganj, you don’t just shop for books-you find feelings, stories, and people who still believe in the magic of paper.
