For 28‑year‑old Taqi Abbas—a descendant of Lucknow’s Nawabi heritage—capturing the city’s untold stories has become both passion and purpose. Through his Instagram project Lucknow Uncovered, Abbas offers intimate visual narratives of Fade‑into‑memory artisans like Battu Bhai, the historic Clock Tower, traditional treats like Jauzi halwa, and poetic rituals like shayari that still echo through the lanes of the City of Nawabs. His lens doesn’t merely survey, it dwells in valor, texture, and nostalgia, blending documentary precision with creative flair.
Abbas’s videos reveal the slow-cooked rituals behind dishes like Jauzi halwa—guarded by a single family in Sheesh Mahal and the regal allure of Shahi Parcha kebab, smoked with rose petals and rooted in 18th‑century Awadh. Starting from grainy beginnings in 2023, the page has blossomed with richer visuals and a dedicated production team. Each episode serves as a loving homage to architecture, cuisine, poetry, and the soul‑storied people who make Lucknow timeless.
