Think before you donate! These 4 items can drive wealth away this Dhanteras.

Dhanteras 2025: The festival of wealth and prosperity marks the beginning of Diwali on October 18. While buying gold, silver, copper, or brass utensils is considered auspicious, astrologers warn that certain items should never be donated on this sacred day.

According to belief, donating money or coins may drive away Goddess Lakshmi’s blessings from your home. Similarly, black clothes or accessories attract negativity and disturb peace. Oil or ghee, symbolizing light and prosperity, should not be donated as it can reduce positivity in your home. Lastly, avoid iron or glass items, which are linked with Saturn and Rahu—doing so may invite financial troubles.

Instead, devotees are advised to light Yam Deepak in the evening, clean their homes, and chant “Shri Shri Mahalaxmyai Namah” while praying to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kubera. Performing these rituals ensures happiness, prosperity, and protection from negative energy throughout the year.
