Reliance Industries (RIL) is set to build a 1-gigawatt Artificial Intelligence data centre in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced. The state-of-the-art facility will be fully modular and designed to host advanced AI hardware like GPUs, TPUs, and other high-performance processors.
To ensure sustainable operations, the data centre will be paired with a 6 GWp solar power project in the state. According to Naidu, this will more than double Andhra Pradesh’s existing ground-mounted solar capacity and contribute over 30% of its renewable energy output.
Reliance’s planned centre will operate alongside its existing gigawatt-scale AI facility in Jamnagar, Gujarat - forming “one of Asia’s strongest AI infrastructure networks,” as described by the CM.
Notably, Naidu did not disclose financial details of the investment, and Reliance has yet to publicly comment.
