Tesla Appoints Sharad Agarwal as Head of India Operations!

American electric‐vehicle giant Tesla has named Sharad Agarwal - formerly head of Lamborghini India and most recently Chief Business Officer at Classic Legends - as its new India country head. The appointment marks a shift in Tesla’s strategy: instead of relying on remote regional oversight, the company is establishing a dedicated leadership presence in India.

Earlier this year, Tesla opened its first India “Experience Centre” in Mumbai in July, followed by a second in New Delhi’s Aerocity in August. The move accompanies the launch of its midsize SUV Model Y in India. Agarwal is expected to focus initially on India’s luxury-EV segment, navigating high import tariffs, slow EV adoption and building the brand’s local ecosystem.
With this leadership and retail expansion in place, Tesla is gearing up to deepen its footprint in one of the world’s fastest-growing automobile markets.
